At the feeder

My latest arrivals that have me excited are the american goldfinches that are almost in full bright yellow summer plumage and a young cooper's hawk. Well yes, the hawk is trying to eat the smaller birds at my feeder but hey it is fun to watch a raptor hunting just out my window! Also it doesn't seem to stop the birds from coming back. The goldfinches are attracted by the sock full of thistle seed i hung in my tree - they are supposed to be fickle but i've had takers every day for the past 3 weeks and one even came down and chattered at me while I was filling the sock last time. These are not my images, i'll try to get some decent pics of my own!
